I was born August 30th, 1988 in Burlington, ON, but grew up in Mississauga, Ontario. My passion for music is largely thanks to my parents, who started me in piano lessons at the age of 3.
I was first exposed to singing on a more competitive level in grade 6, where I decided to auditioned for a girls' choir at school.
Around the same time, I started writing shorts songs on the piano, and told anyone that asked that I was going to be a famous singer when I grew up. A few years later, I found myself auditioning for a local high-school's music program... Long story short, I was lucky enough to learn and grow both musically and otherwise during that time. I even got an arts' certificate out of the deal!
After high-school, I decided to leave music education behind, and moved to Vancouver, BC. My excuse was university, but I really just wanted a change of scenery. I sort of fell into the local music scene via open mics, like-minded dorm-mates, and craigslist "band search" posts.
I recorded my EP, "October" in 2006/07, and released it shortly after. The 6 tracks is a montage of my experiences being on my own in a completely new environment.
Now, almost 5 years later, I'm struggling to finish my degree in communication, while still writing and performing. The recording isn't happening so much lately, but there is a full length album on the horizon, with a folk-roots/singer-songwriter vibe.
